1. I plan to glaze my piece red on the coils and white on the actual surface. Once I'm done I'm going to remove the tape ball in the middle. After that I'm going to add the baseball lid.
2. Some thigs that have been difficult are the coils. It took a lot of time to get it right. Another thing is they kept falling off, so I had to make sure it was all the same. 3. I feel like the tape ball definitely helped me. It helped give a nice mold that I could coil around. 4. At the beginning, I needed to cut a piece of slab. After that I folded it down, and wrapped it around the tape ball. For the coils, I had to use scratch and slip so they would stay in place. There were a couple spots where the clay broke off, and I also had to use score and slip method. Now that's the clay is molded, it's time to fire it.

1. What I chose to paint was a baseball field. It’s a baseball field for the Cleveland Indians, which is in Ohio. What is important about this place is that I love baseball. I was born in Ohio and recently moved to NC 2 years ago.
2. The most challenging thing in this painting was probably the field/ green parts. I had to get the right types of greens to match the photo. I also had to use tape to make sure the lines in the outfield were straight. 3. The most successful thing about my piece is how it looks all together. When I first started the painting, I didn’t know wether or not it would turn out that good. 4. The first thing I did was practice getting the certain colors in my sketchbook. Then I primed my painting in red. After that I started with the outfield. I painted the whole thing one green, then put tape to have another part darker green. Then I did the rest of the infield green, and did the orange for he sand. Once I was done with everything I added the white lines since they were the last layer. 1. The biggest thing I learned from these activities is how to mix certain colors. It helped throughout my paintings because I can get the right color when I need it.
2. The most helpful warmup that will help me with my painting is probably the tone, shade, and tint. Sometimes you need to lighten the color, or even darken it. The picture I chose has a lot of dark and light colors mixed. 3. I think I learned the most from the different textures. Certain things you paint have the textures needed. Water would be a big factor in learning. It was successful because in my project I know the different ways/strokes I need to use. 4. To make the color brown, you mix the opposite colors. For example, I used blue and orange to make brown. 5. To tone down a color, you have to add a tiny bit of grey to it. To get grey, you have to mix white, and a tiny hint of black. 1. The most helpful warm up to me was the pen cubes because it helped me be able to use different techniques in my art work.
2. Composition is the placement of visual elements or ingredients in a work of art. Value is the element of design that defines the lights and darks in an artwork. 3. The pros of pen is that you can get lots of detail and it looks good. The cons are that you can't erase it. The pros of charcoal is that you can erase it easily if you mess up. The cons are that it gets really messy. The pros of pencil is that there are lots of different types for different shading. The cons are that it can smudge or smear easily. Simon Beck, is from London, and he is a snow artist. This artist mainly works in the snow, and he the funny thing is... he creates it by walking. He also owns his clothing brand, and one is called the Icebreaker. This artists work was especially inspiring to me because I like the snow a lot. It shows how his art is different from everyone else. His work inspires me to be different from everyone else and that's okay. I like the fact that he walks when he does it. He doesn't rush through any of his art. It draws me into his pieces because I'm from Ohio, and it was always cold there. That's the main reason I enjoy the snow. His work displays a certain theme. A lot of his work are things that involve snow. One that he does a lot, is snowflakes. Overall, this artist is probably my favorite that I've seen, because I sort of connect.
